Jewellery makes a wonderful gift, whether it’s an on-trend piece for a friend or something meaningful for a loved one. For a gift overflowing with sentiment, bespoke jewellery is the perfect choice. In this guide we take you through our bespoke jewellery process and how to create the ideal personalised gift.

What is bespoke jewellery?

Bespoke jewellery is jewellery made to a person’s design or specifications, making it completely unique. These custom-made jewellery pieces are one-of-a-kind, which is what makes them so incredibly special.

Here at Aleks Jewellers, we can make this happen. We’re able to take your ideas and designs and turn them into something real to cherish forever. Be it a necklace created using pieces of your grandmother’s favourite bracelet or a custom-made diamond ring for the perfect proposal. But how do we do this?

Made-to-order bespoke jewellery journey

It starts with a bespoke jewellery consultation, where we will discuss your ideas. We can create almost anything; perhaps you have a button from your grandfather’s coat you’d like a mould made of for a pendant, or you’ve found an image online that has inspired a bangle design. Whatever your ideas, we can transform it into jewellery that lasts a lifetime.

From here, we can turn sketches and plans into an optional CAD (Computer-Aided Design) for an additional cost. This gives you the chance to see your custom jewellery piece in 3D detail, from stud earrings to wedding rings.

Next, we turn the CAD drawing or original sketches into a wax mould. This enables you to see what your jewellery will look like in person and to try it on. This service comes at an additional cost, but will be deducted from the final amount if you want to go ahead with your bespoke jewellery creation.

A wax model is highly recommended for custom engagement rings. Trying on the ring can avoid alterations down the line from the ring being too small or big. It is also really helpful to see the intricate details of the ring up close to make final decisions.

When you’re happy with your design, we’ll send it off to our highly skilled jewellers to create. Soon, your stunning final bespoke piece will return to our store, ready for you to take home.

What is a bespoke engagement ring?

If you’re unsure what a bespoke engagement ring is, we can explain. Though there are many beautiful rings out there to choose from, sometimes your ideal ring just doesn’t quite match any of those on display. At Aleks Jewellers, we can custom-make an engagement ring that can’t be found in any jewellery store to your specifications.

We have a workshop within our Norwich store where we can build your dream diamond engagement ring. You can select your ring style, metal type and diamond, including the stone’s quality, shape and size. We will then create the custom engagement ring ready for you to surprise your partner with a truly special proposal. To find out more about this service, visit us in-store or give us a call.
